Guidelines for Submissions to CypherHunter
These guidelines cover proposals to add a new CypherHunter profile or update an existing published profile ("Submission Content"). By submitting a proposal, you agree to these guidelines. Submission Content and sources must currently be in English.
Scope
Submission Content must be relevant to the crypto industry. This includes organizations (such as investments, financial services, mining and infrastructure, media, and services), products (such as infrastructure, scaling, interoperability, protocols, tools, and apps), and people (such as founders, developers, angels, and growth specialists).
Non-crypto pages, unverifiable shells, and purely promotional landing pages are out of scope.
Who can submit
Any registered user with a verified email address can propose a new profile. Official team members and authorized representatives are preferred. Third-party submissions must be supported by credible public sources.
Dashboard updates to an existing published profile are available only to its owner or a team member with write access. If you do not manage an existing profile, email [email protected] with the profile URL, requested correction, and supporting sources.
Proposal limits and duplicates
- Use the primary official website. CypherHunter compares website domains to detect existing profiles and duplicate proposals.
- Do not submit a new profile when a matching profile already exists.
- An account/team can have only one active new-profile slot. A new-profile draft, pending proposal, proposal under review, or published project occupies that slot.
- If your account/team already manages a published profile, use Propose an update instead of creating another profile.
- Rejected and withdrawn proposals release the active new-profile slot. They can be edited and resubmitted if the slot is still available when resubmission is attempted.
- Only one pending or reviewing update can target the same published profile at a time.
Duplicates may be rejected or merged. Repeated attempts to bypass duplicate or proposal limits may be treated as spam.
Required information and form limits
Every proposal must include:
- Project name: official name, up to 60 characters;
- Official website: a valid primary URL whose domain is not already assigned to another profile;
- Logo: square PNG or JPG, at least 100×100 px and no larger than 1 MB;
- Short bio: one factual sentence, up to 160 characters;
- Description: what the project does, who it is for, meaningful differentiators, and relevant source links, up to 5,000 characters.
The form also supports these optional fields:
- Official social and documentation links;
- Primary location or headquarters;
- Up to five existing tags;
- All relevant ecosystems.
Use authoritative links whenever possible: the official site, documentation, blog or announcement, reputable media, regulator filings, block explorers, and open-source repositories. Claims about fundraising, team members, launches, licenses, users, or other metrics must be verifiable.
CypherHunter editors assign the final category during review. Submitters select from existing tags and ecosystems; they cannot create new taxonomy terms through the proposal form.
Bio and description standards
The short bio should be factual, specific, and keyword-aware. Aim for 80–160 characters without hype or superlatives.
- What + for whom + edge: "Layer 2 scaling for games using zk-rollups and sub-second confirmation."
- Category + focus + proof: "Crypto venture firm investing in early-stage infrastructure and DeFi across APAC."
Use the description for additional context and source links. Do not copy promotional copy without checking it, and do not present projections or self-reported claims as independently verified facts.
Review workflow
All proposals are reviewed manually for accuracy, verifiability, duplication/conflict, policy compliance, and taxonomy fit. Typical review time is 3–7 business days, but complex or low-information proposals may take longer.
Proposal statuses work as follows:
- Draft: editable and not yet queued for review;
- Pending review: queued and read-only, but can still be withdrawn;
- Reviewing: a curator has started reviewing it; editing and withdrawal are locked;
- Approved: the new profile or update is published;
- Rejected: the review note explains the issue or requested changes; the proposal can be edited and resubmitted;
- Withdrawn: the proposal can be edited and resubmitted.
Curators may normalize names, links, taxonomy, formatting, or other submitted content before approval to meet CypherHunter's editorial standards. The proposal status and, when rejected, the review note are available under Dashboard › Submissions. CypherHunter also emails the submitter when the review is completed.
Updates and profile removal
Use an update proposal for material changes to a profile you manage, including launches, official links, team information, positioning, licenses, ecosystems, and other current facts. The existing profile remains published while an update is pending or under review; approved changes are then applied to that profile.
Profile removal is not available through the proposal form. For removal, privacy, ownership, or accuracy concerns, email [email protected] with the profile URL, a brief explanation, and supporting details.
Prohibited content
Do not submit content involving fraud or scams; money laundering or terrorist financing; violence, hate, or discrimination based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, or another protected characteristic; exploitation or endangerment of minors; illegal tools or instructions; doxxing; privacy or intellectual-property violations; impersonation; fabricated metrics; malicious defamation; or other unlawful content.
Factual reporting about matters such as court filings or regulator notices must cite credible sources and use neutral language.
Ranking and visibility
Approval does not guarantee a particular rank, traffic level, or placement. Community signals such as likes and comments may influence ranking alongside editorial signals such as completeness, credible sources, and recent activity. Manipulation and spam may result in demotion or removal.
Legal and privacy
You warrant that Submission Content is truthful, lawful, and non-infringing, and that you hold the necessary rights to submitted logos and trademarks. Avoid sensitive personal data. Include wallet addresses only when they are public, official, materially relevant, and linked to a reputable explorer.
