How to Submit or Update a CypherHunter Profile
English-only for now (submissions and sources). For policy details, see Guidelines for Submissions to CypherHunter.
Any registered user with a verified email address can propose a new profile. To update an existing published profile through the dashboard, you must be its owner or have write access from its team.
All new profiles and profile updates use the same proposal workflow. A proposal is not public until it has been reviewed and approved by CypherHunter.
Before you start
- Use the project's primary official website. CypherHunter uses the website domain to detect existing profiles and duplicate proposals.
- Prepare English-language, factual content and official links.
- Have a square PNG or JPG logo ready (at least 100×100 px and no larger than 1 MB).
Submit a new profile
- Go to Dashboard › Submissions and click New Submission.
- Enter the project's official website and click Search.
- If no published profile is found, click Get Started. The website you searched for will be carried into the form.
- Complete the required fields: logo, project name, official website, short bio, and description. Social links, location, tags, and ecosystems are optional.
- Use Preview to review the profile. You can then Save Draft or Submit it for review.
- Follow the proposal's status and any review note under Dashboard › Submissions.
Saving a draft also requires all five required fields. The project name can contain up to 60 characters, the short bio up to 160 characters, and the description up to 5,000 characters. You can select up to five existing tags.
Update a published profile
If your account or team has write access to a published profile, Dashboard › Submissions will direct you to Propose an update. You can also use Update on an approved proposal. The form starts with the profile's current published information; edit the relevant fields, preview the result, and submit the update for review.
If the website search finds an existing profile that you do not manage, do not create a duplicate. Email [email protected] with the profile URL, requested correction, and supporting sources.
Proposal statuses and available actions
| Status | What it means | What you can do |
|---|---|---|
| Draft | The proposal has not been submitted for review. | Edit, preview, save, or submit it. |
| Pending review | The proposal is waiting for a curator. | View it or withdraw it; editing is locked. |
| Reviewing | A curator has started reviewing the proposal. | View the status; editing and withdrawal are locked. |
| Approved | The new profile or update has been published. | View the published profile or propose another update. |
| Rejected | The proposal needs changes or cannot be accepted. | Read the review note, edit the proposal, and resubmit it. |
| Withdrawn | You withdrew the proposal before review started. | Edit the proposal and resubmit it. |
Only one active new-profile slot is available to an account/team. A new-profile draft, pending proposal, proposal under review, or already published project will prevent another new-profile proposal; continue the existing proposal or propose an update instead. Rejected and withdrawn proposals do not occupy the active new-profile slot.
Eligibility is checked again when a rejected or withdrawn new-profile proposal is resubmitted. If another active proposal or published project has since taken the slot, continue or update that item instead.
Review and publication
All proposals are reviewed manually for accuracy, verifiability, duplicates, and taxonomy fit. Review typically takes 3–7 business days. Complex or low-information proposals may take longer. CypherHunter may normalize or edit submitted content during review to meet its editorial standards.
You will receive an email when the review is completed. If a proposal is rejected, the review note is also shown in Dashboard › Submissions, where you can revise and resubmit it.
